! MEETING AGENDA !
What's the Young Materials Modellers Forum?
The RSC Industrial Molecular Modelling Group is pleased to announce
the "Young Materials Modellers" Forum 2005. The event
aims to give young materials modellers who are doing a Ph.D. an
opportunity to present work to an audience including industrialists
as well as academics.
The format of this meeting will follow our successful meetings
in 2003 and 2004 and is very similar to that of the "Young
Modellers" Forum organised by the Molecular Graphics and
Modelling Society. It is a one-day meeting, and this year will
be held at Oxford University. Student modellers from across the
UK are invited to submit an abstract. About 8 will be selected
by the organising committee as half-hour oral presentations, and
the others will be invited to present posters. There will be prizes
for the best talks and posters!!!
Travel bursaries will be available for those giving oral presentations,
and we hope possibly also for posters. Please note there are NO
registration fees for this meeting, thanks to generous sponsorship.
When and where?
The one-day meeting will be held on Wednesday
September 28th at the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory,
Oxford University. More details on travel arrangements etc. can
be found from http://ptcl.chem.ox.ac.uk/the-laboratory.html#maps
What do I do next?
If you wish to attend please email ymm-forum@bris.ac.uk as soon
as possible before Friday September 9th. Students wishing to give
a presentation should attach a short abstract (max. one page)
to this email. Please specify which year of the Ph.D. you are
in. Let us know if you do not want your abstract to be considered
for an oral presentation.
We will notify those who have submitted an abstract whether they
have been selected for an oral or poster presentation by 15th
September.
